More About Franconia Springfield, VA Homes For Sale

Franconia Springfield, VA Homes For SaleLocated by the connector for I-95, I-395 and I-495, Franconia is a quintessential Virginia commuter suburb. The grid of major arteries along with the Franconia/Springfield Metro Rail, serve to provide easy access to the entire Washington DC Metro area. With a continually growing economy, the community was recently tabbed by CNN/Money Magazine an up and coming contender in the Best Places to Live.

The real estate market in Franconia has been climbing, with a 10% hike in value over the past year. Nearly three quarters of available properties fall into the condo and townhouse category, with a median value index of $394,400 for all homes combined. There was a big construction boom during the 1990's and as a result, prices here became highly competitive in the aftermath of the national economic downturn. While many parts of the county are moving into a sellers market, there are still good deals to be had here.

The combination of affordable living, commuter options and amenities makes Franconia a great alternative to some of Fairfax County's more affluent bedroom communities. There's a Trader Joe's in nearby Springfield, popular restaurants like the House of Dynasty and a large, thriving wetlands recreational area, Huntley Meadows Park.
