Early homes in the Douglas Park area were mostly of the large Queen Anne variety, built during the late 1800's to early 1900's. In 1927, new development commenced with the construction of Colonial Revival, Craftsman, and boxy brick townhouses. This building boom lasted until the 1940's. Immediately following World War II, construction commenced again, helping to fill the needs of those who had been involved with the war effort. New homes included Cape Cods, bungalows, and garden-style apartments that have converted to condos. Most recently, new construction has included new Craftsman-style house and multi-unit condo buildings along Four Mile Run.
