Some of the DC area’s most expensive condos for sale will be housed inside The Lauren, located at 4901 Hamden Lane in Bethesda, MD. If you’re already familiar with the project or take a walk around the surrounding area, it’s not hard to piece together why this area is booming with luxury development.
Washington’s housing prices are already among the highest in the country, so even without the lavish interior finishes and fancy amenities that are associated with The Lauren, condo prices here are already pretty steep to say the least. But when you factor in the new construction element, the demand for high-end housing, and the area’s extensive inventory of comparable properties, you might find that paying a premium for a condo at The Lauren Residences, which start around $2.5 million, won’t be all that uncommon.
In all, 40 ultra-luxurious residences will be a part of The Lauren Residences, which will range between 2,500 and 3,500 square feet. The sheer size of each condo is also another component to The Lauren’s pricing, as typical Washington DC condos rarely house over 1,300 square feet. Ceiling heights inside the units will also be slightly larger and will run between 9 and 10 feet, compared to 8 feet or lower for other already-developed condos in the area.
Along with the exclusive Lauren Residences, Hamden Row is also being developed in the area, which is a quiet collection of luxury condos that sits just down the road. Like its Lauren Residences-counterpart, Hamden Row will be more of a boutique-style development and house just 55 individual residences that are specifically designed to impress.
It’s an exciting new time for the Washington DC area condo market, and regardless of whether you think we’ve seen a full market recovery recover or not, luxury condos are on the way and Bethesda looks to be in the center of all the action.
