The Georgetown Reservoir and the Potomac River are right in the neighborhood's back yard, and it's common to see couples and children enjoying the walking paths and expansive grassy parks. Nearly 60 percent of all homeowners have been married for 15 years or more, and half of all households include children under the age of 18. The average family income in Berkeley is $277,052, nearly five times the average for the District of Columbia. Homes for sale in the area don't sell as fast as the more centrally located areas due to higher prices and a decidedly less trendy appeal. There are a number of well known schools in the area, including public, private, and charter.
With its suburban feel and varied architectural styles, Beverley homes are almost exclusively detached only single family dwellings.
