More About the American University Park Real Estate Market

American University Park Homes For Sale in Washington DCAU Park was developed around the turn of the century and offers a combination of quiet suburbia, well-maintained homes and a great public school system. While there's shops and restaurants along bordering Wisconsin Avenue, as well as other nearby shopping districts, the neighborhood itself is strictly residential. American University Park homes are typified by large wood and/or brick Colonials, although there are other designs as well, including Queen Anne and Art-Deco. The triangular 1940 Sears & Roebuck building at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Albermarle Street is a wonderful example of the Art Deco influence in the area.

American University Park homes have risen steeply in price in recent years, with many listing in excess of $1 million. Area residents tend to be well-educated and involved with their community, and typically include university educators, diplomats, financiers and other white collar professionals. There are some condos for sale in the neighborhood, usually in larger and more modern multi-unit buildings. Foreclosures in AU Park are almost nonexistent. There are a number of attractive parks and it's common to see children outside playing, and moms jogging with strollers. While American University Park homes are generously sized, the lots tend to be compact with few driveways. The community design element is said to promote walkability, and good neighbor relationships.
